Three Palm Software Integrates Volpara Density Software
Los Gatos California and Wellington New Zealand, 10 November 2011
Three Palm Software of California, USA and Matakina International Limited of Wellington, New Zealand, today announced that WorkstationOne, the cutting edge breast imaging workstation from Three Palm Software, is now seamlessly integrated with the Volpara breast density software from Matakina. Volpara is designed to assist radiologists by objectively and automatically assessing a woman’s breast tissue density.
The integration provides radiologists a most efficient and effective mechanism to utilize the automatically generated breast density produced by Volpara. WorkstationOne already provides an easy user interface to record the breast density assessed by the radiologists during mammographic interpretation. With the integration, the automated breast density from Volpara is presented as an initial assessment, while allowing the radiologist to over-write the automated assessment if occasionally it is different to the radiologist’s assessment.
“Our partnership with Three Palm Software will make objective breast density readings available to radiologists with a much more efficient workflow than ever before” said Dr Ralph Highnam, CEO of Matakina International Ltd. “We are very pleased to be bringing this exciting new technology to the user via our state-of-the-art workstation” said Dr. Patrick Heffernan, CEO of Three Palm Software.
Volpara offers radiologists a reliable and cost-effective tool to automatically generate objective volumetric breast density values, the FDA-cleared Volpara breast imaging software computes volumetric breast tissue density from digital screening mammograms. Volpara software assists radiologists by providing objective, automatic and robust measurement of volumetric breast tissue density and is currently available for Hologic and GE digital mammography systems with validation of integration with other systems underway.
